In the Dienas bizness newspaper – data of the BDO Zelmenis&Liberte tax climate study

The Dienas bizness newspaper published an article “Business waits for work instead of promises”, which used data of the BDO Zelmenis&Liberte study on tax climate in the Baltic States. Entrepreneurs interviewed by the article author welcome intention of the Finance Minister Andris Vilks to double the personal income tax allowance already in 2013. The study shows that if Latvia doubles the personal allowance (from current Ls 45 per month to Ls 90 per month), it still will be lower than the personal allowance already existing in Estonia. However, in Lithuania, such personal allowance is only for recipients of small salaries – below EUR 232 (Ls 163) per month, while recipients of big salaries do not have it at all. Read more here.
